Our concept is based on the idea of "elegant maceration." We consider our Colombian indigenous roots, in addition to being a deep tradition, to be a relevant and elegant geometric contribution. For this purpose, we chose the traditional Quimbaya mortar and pestle. Its lines gave us the opportunity to explore forms specific to our context in one of our studio's most admired objects.
This morphology allows for optimal material distribution, physical load, and desired ergonomics. Its pestle features a new shape to facilitate grinding herbs and spices, and it also features a container for easy storage. Its material is composed of high-strength, waterproof resin, which sits firmly and won't scratch your countertop or work surface. Its weight allows it to withstand high impacts and perform like a rock when working. The pestle or mallet can be stored by rotating the container, allowing it to complete the initial shape and achieve a complete unit.
